Jonathan Zittrain is a professor of law at Harvard Law School. He co-founded the the Berkman Center for Internet & Society. His areas of research interest include digital property, privacy, free speech, and Internet governance. His book, The Future of the Internet and How to stop It, warns against the corporatization of the Internet and the growing threats to privacy and creativity that it poses. He has held visiting professorships at Stanford University and the New York University School of Law as well as teaching at Oxford University.

Zittrain has a J.D. from Harvard University, an M.P.A. from the Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government, and a B.S. in Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence from Yale University.
